Food With Poo

Leaving the restaurant yesterday, KO complained that he had wanted a white balloon, not a red one. I told him that lots of children would love any balloon at all, or even food.
He stopped complaining and told me about a documentary he’d watched with James about children who live at the dump, scavenging for food. It had made quite an impression on him. He said to me several times, to make sure that I grasped the full weight of it:
“And they have to eat food with POO on it!”
He thought that was unbelievably awful. I agree 🙁
