The Counting Game

At bedtime tonight.

KO: My pick for a game, then yours okay?

Me: Mine is always going to be the counting game if it’s bedtime.**

KO: Why?

Me: Because that’s what’s best for you at bedtime.

KO (pauses, then thoughtfully says): You know what? When I’m grown up, my rules are going to be different from your rules.

Me: Really! How so?

KO: I don’t know. They’ll just be different.

Me: Just name one thing that will be different.

KO: When I’m grown up I’ll decide. So when I’m 10.

**The counting game is a game where KO has to shut his eyes and stay completely still in bed while I slowly count to 200.
